Safety in Film and TV Production:
General safety awareness course with the standard topics of H&S Law, Company and Personal Responsibility, Risk Assessments, Role Play/Scenarios to develop understanding, Accidents and everyone’s favourite the accident reel looking at why accidents happened in the past.
Available as 1 or ½ day courses. Equally the course is easily modified to fit your specific needs or to meet selected groups' needs.
Art and Design – Safety Management
Looking at the issues relating to Art and Design builds within TV and similar environments. The course largely maps the general Safety in Film and TV as above but with its focus on how the topics affect the Design and Build stages. In addition the course looks at CDM (Building Regulations) where they apply to our Industry and what their impact is within the UK, looks at general hazards and management strategies to reduce Design and Build risks at an early stage.
Manual Handling – Cameras and Sound:
This course comes in a variety of forms depending on your needs. The course(s) were developed together with an ergonomist and look not only at the standard “bend your knees” model but also the issues, risks and preventative strategies associated with operating postures/habits and working hours.
The courses split roughly into full PSC; DV Cameras and Studio Operating – Sound can be done as a stand-alone course or together with PSC training.
Depending on need, budget and availability the courses are generally ½ day – however the DV and PSC courses can be extended to a full day with some advanced techniques and postural assessment tools.
Manual Handling – Art and Design:
Looking at the particular risks associated with Scene Handlers/Build/Art crews we aim to provide a relevant focussed training course going well beyond the "here’s a cardboard box" type training.
Engineering & Technical:
We are able to offer a variety of courses focussed on Engineering and Technical needs. Be it a standard 1 day Safety course looking at the standard topics of H&S LAW, Responsibility, Risk Assessment, Electricity at Work Act etc. through to a 4 day full Introduction for new Engineers within the Industry we are able to deliver suitable focussed and relevant training.
Specific and Tailored Training:
We recognise that tailored training is the key to its success. This although we aim to ensure every course is made relevant to the audience through use of industry knowledge and specifics relating to any group we can in addition develop training to meet specific needs - be it tailored to include your safety management systems (be that risk assessment forms, responsibilities within the company or niche training to support a specific production we can tailor courses for your particular needs.
Examples over the years have included Construction Site Awareness (Early Grand Design Series), Remote Area Working, Rainforest Risks etc

In addition we are able to offer Assessor Training for General Risk Assessors, COSHH Assessors, DSE Assessment and Manual Handling Assessment.
First Aid Training:
No we’re not registered First Aid trainers – but we know several who are - all with wide ranging experience within the TV, Film and Media Sectors
